We’re excited to congratulate Josh Nielsen, MODUS Partner and Electrical Engineer, for being selected to join the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute’s Community Leadership Program. This prestigious program brings together leaders from various industries to foster collaboration, community involvement, and impactful change across the Greater Des Moines area.
Josh’s commitment to both his profession and his community makes him an ideal candidate for this program. Since joining MODUS in 2005, Josh has demonstrated exemplary leadership, both as a technical expert and as a project manager. With deep expertise in electrical engineering, power distribution, and emergency systems, he plays a key role in delivering complex, high-quality projects. Now, as a Partner, he oversees our Des Moines and Iowa City markets, along with supporting out-of-state projects, ensuring that every project aligns with client needs and the highest standards of design.

As a leader at MODUS, he leads by example, participating in volunteer activities like Meals for the Heartland, Habitat for Humanity, and LifeServe Blood Center. He actively supports The Gateway Church, where he is involved in their building efforts, and participates in ACE Mentoring as an electrical engineering presenter, inspiring the next generation of engineers. Josh is also committed to local school districts, participating in career open houses to introduce students to engineering opportunities.
We are incredibly proud of Josh’s commitment to making a positive impact both at MODUS and in the Greater Des Moines community. Congratulations, Josh, on this well-deserved recognition! We look forward to seeing all the amazing things you’ll accomplish through the Community Leadership Program.
